As the COVID-19 vaccine started rolling out, many communities like the Latinx community were left behind in vaccination preparations and efforts, unfortunately creating racial disparities. For that reason, the Healthy Yolo Together team and I organized the “Gana Contra COVID-19” (Win Against COVID-19) campaign to help Spanish speaking Latinx communities in Yolo County WIN against their uncertainty and fear around vaccines. To elevate the experiences of the Latinx community but to also increase trust with the COVID-19 vaccine, we invited Sergio Aguilar-Gaxiola (MD/PhD), a COVID-19 Spanish/English speaking expert, to address some of the most asked questions relating to vaccine hesitancy in the identified community.
